Alpha Farrier Services is owned and operated by Mike Poe, CJF (Certified Journeyman Farrier).
Poe brings to AFS:
- A career spanning more than a decade and 7 states
- A dedication to continued education
- Skills he honed to pass the highest levels of national certification
He has the knowledge, experience and ability to create a specialized care plan to meet the unique needs of you and your horse.
Since graduating from the Eastern School of Farrier Science in 1999 and studying in the Animal Sciences program at Virginia Tech University, Poe has shod horses in seven states on both the East and West coasts.
His clients include owners of performance and pleasure horses in multiple disciplines, as well as equestrian programs like the one at the University of Maryland, College Park. He also specializes in therapeutic (corrective) shoeing for horses with special needs.
Poe offers his services at world-class events such as the Pan Am American Endurance Championships in Trout Lake, Wash., which he was the event Farrier for in 2003.
Mike Poe, CJF, operates Alpha Farrier Services in these counties in Central Maryland:
- Anne Arundel County
- Northeastern Prince Georges County
- Southeatern Montgomery County
- Southeastern Howard County
