Communication Is Key!
June 12, 2008
Of all the tools that we have at our disposal, is there any one more valuable than being able to discuss the problems that we face?
Sure, action is important. But I have found that when situations deviate from the norm, it is best to decide a course of action before picking up the first foot.
At times I feel like I talk too much about what I do for a living. I can talk all day about what I am doing while trimming or shaping shoes. I do it because I'm excited about my work. I sometimes forget that I am also allowing my clients to know what my reasons are for what I am doing with their horses.
I also love hearing stories about what has been happening with my clients and their horses since I last saw them. Not only do I get to be entertained, I get to find out how the horses have been going and progressing in their training. It’s just another type of communication that helps strengthen my client relationships.
